HDPE anti-collision guardrail is a protective device installed in factory workshops and warehouse interiors. It is similar to the dock bollards we discussed last time, but its application scenarios are more focused on indoor logistics.

Elastic energy absorption: It is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material, which inherently possesses good flexibility and elasticity. When struck by a forklift, the guardrail will undergo elastic deformation to absorb the impact force, and then gradually return to its original state, avoiding "hard impact" damage to the vehicle and facilities.

Core feature: How does it work?

When hit by a forklift, the guardrail will undergo elastic deformation to absorb the impact force, and then gradually return to its original state, avoiding "hard impact" damage to the vehicle and facilities.


Combination of rigidity and flexibility: Pure plastic guardrails are not strong enough, so common industrial crash barriers are usually of composite structure. The core of it is a sturdy metal column (usually galvanized steel pipe), and the outside is wrapped with an HDPE material guard plate or crossbeam. This not only ensures the overall structural strength but also provides cushioning by taking advantage of the elasticity of HDPE.

  • Define the protection targets: The first step is to determine what the main protected objects are. Is it protecting the walls? Protecting the shelves? Or isolating the passageways? Different targets correspond to different types of products. For example, to protect the shelves, a specific "shelf impact-resistant guardrail" should be selected.

  • Assess the impact level: You need to consider the magnitude of the potential impact force. This is related to the tonnage of the forklift you use and the driving speed. For areas where heavy forklifts operate frequently, you should choose products with thicker columns, larger guard plates, and higher impact resistance levels.

  • Pay attention to the structure and material: A good guardrail must be "steel and plastic combined". When purchasing, make sure to confirm the wall thickness of the internal metal columns (generally, it should be no less than 2mm) and the galvanizing anti-corrosion process, as well as the thickness and quality of the external HDPE material.

  • Installation method: Usually, expansion bolts are used to directly fix the base or column of the guardrail to the ground. This installation process causes minimal damage to the original ground and is also convenient for later adjustments or removal.

  • Channel isolation guardrail:Divide the pedestrian passage from the vehicle passage, and protect the areas of production lines or important equipment.

 

  • Shelf anti-collision guardrail:Installed at the front and end of the uprights of the warehouse shelves
  • Column/angle corner protection strip:Protect the building columns and corner walls inside the workshop
  • Equipment guardrail:Surrounding the control cabinet, operation console, fire hydrants and other facilities
