What is HDPE drip irrigation tape?
It is a type of irrigation pipe made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material, used at the end of the drip irrigation system. In the industry, it is commonly referred to as a drip irrigation tape or capillary tube.
You can think of it as a flexible hose that "sweats". Its inner wall is equipped with precise water outlets (nozzles). During the low-pressure flow process, the water will pass through these nozzles and slowly, evenly seep into the soil near the roots of the crops in the form of water droplets.
How does it work?
The filtered irrigation water from the main pipeline enters the drip irrigation tape.
As it passes through the special labyrinth-shaped flow channels inside the dripper, the pressure is gradually reduced and the flow rate slows down.
Finally, the water flows out of the nozzle in constant quantities, dripping drop by drop, and seeps into the surrounding soil.
Where lies its core advantage?
The HDPE molecular structure is more stable, which makes the drip irrigation tape have stronger resistance to stretching, wear and tear, and aging. During field laying and recovery, it is less likely to be torn or broken, and can withstand sun exposure and rain, having a longer service life.
In low-temperature environments, the HDPE material still maintains excellent flexibility and is not prone to cracking or aging. This is a very crucial advantage for winter irrigation or off-season planting in northern cold regions.
This is its fundamental advantage as an irrigation device. Through the built-in precise drippers (such as patch-type and labyrinth-type), regardless of the length of the pipeline, it can ensure that the flow rate at each water outlet along the entire pipeline is basically consistent.
Providing a stable water environment for crops continuously is beneficial for nutrient absorption. The crops will grow more uniformly, and both the yield and quality will be improved. It can be combined with the fertilization system to achieve water and fertilizer integration, allowing the fertilizer to directly act on the root system through water, significantly improving the utilization rate and saving labor
