HDPE perforated corrugated drainage pipe

You can think of it as an "underground drainage sponge" or "collecting underground pipe". It is not used to convey pressurized water flow, but rather works like a capillary, actively collecting excess water from the soil and discharging it through the pipe. It is widely used in civil and agricultural engineering.

What is it? What does it look like?

Core function: Collect and discharge the seepage water in the soil. It can rapidly lower the groundwater level and prevent the roadbed, slope or sports field from becoming unstable or damaged due to excessive water accumulation.
Basic form: This is a plastic pipe with a wavy outer surface. To collect water, long rectangular inlet holes are made at the trough positions of the pipe. To prevent soil particles from entering the pipe along with the water flow and causing blockage, a layer of geotextile fabric is usually wrapped around the outside of the pipe as a filtering layer.
Common materials: Mainly made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which has excellent corrosion resistance and flexibility.

The inlet hole is located at the trough of the wave. Combined with the outer geotextile covering, it can effectively prevent soil particles from entering the pipeline, ensuring the long-term smooth flow of water.

The unique wave-like structure is like adding "reinforcing ribs" to the pipeline, which can effectively resist the pressure from the soil and above, and is not prone to deformation.

Corrosion-resistant and long-lasting

Plastic materials are not corroded by acids or alkalis, and even when buried in damp soil, they won't rust like metals. They have a very long service life.

Good flexibility and convenient for construction

The pipeline can be moderately bent, which enables it to adapt well to terrain changes and makes the laying process more convenient.

Where is it mainly used?

Its application scope is extremely broad. As long as there is underground drainage involved, its presence can be seen almost everywhere.

Transportation Engineering: Drainage of road and railway subgrades and slopes, and blind ditch drainage for tunnels.
Municipal Affairs and Environmental Protection: Drainage for sports fields, golf courses, and green belts; Collection of leachate from landfill sites.
Water resources and agriculture: Used for irrigation and drainage in farmlands, salt-affected land reclamation (salt drainage pipes), and soil and water conservation on hill slopes.
Construction project: Used to drain water at the back of retaining walls, reducing the impact of groundwater levels on buildings.

Perforation Types and Customization

Perforations can be designed as round holes, slotted holes, or customized patterns depending on soil conditions and drainage requirements. Pipes can also be supplied with geotextile wrapping to prevent soil particles from entering the pipe and to reduce the risk of clogging.
