UPVC flange for industrial drainage
Industrial drainage UPVC flanges are, in simple terms, connection components specifically designed for wastewater pipelines in factories and enterprises. They are made of hard polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) and their main function is to securely connect pipes, valves and equipment, facilitating future maintenance and disassembly.
Main specifications and implementation standards
Size range: Generally, it covers from DN15 (approximately 20mm) to DN400 (approximately 400mm), which meets the pipe diameter requirements for the vast majority of industrial drainage systems.
Design standards: The main standards include national standards (such as GB/T 4219.2), German standards (DIN), Japanese standards (JIS), and American standards (ANSI). During the procurement process, it is necessary to confirm which standard the pipeline system follows to ensure that the flanges can be perfectly matched.

Key Features of UPVC Corrosion-Resistant Flanges
High corrosion resistance: This is its greatest advantage. The UPVC material can effectively resist the erosion of acids, alkalis and various chemical fluids, and will not rust or corrode like metal flanges. Therefore, it is highly suitable for transporting industrial wastewater generated by industries such as electroplating, chemical processing, and papermaking.
Low fluid resistance: The inner walls of UPVC flanges and pipes are extremely smooth, with a very low roughness coefficient. This means that the resistance to the flow of wastewater is low, making it less prone to scaling. The flow rate can be greater than that of steel pipes of the same size, and it is also less likely to clog over a long period of use.
Lightweight and high strength: Its weight is very light, approximately only 1/5 to 1/6 of that of the cast iron pipes of the same specification. It is extremely easy to handle and install. At the same time, it has good mechanical strength and can withstand the pressure of the piping system.
Long service life: UPVC materials have excellent resistance to aging. Under suitable working conditions, their service life can reach 40 to 50 years, and in the long run, they offer very good cost-effectiveness.
Several common types
- Live coupling flange: This is the most common type. The flange itself can rotate freely, making it easy to align with the bolt holes. It is particularly suitable for situations where the installation space is limited or frequent disassembly is required. During connection, usually the flange is first placed on the pipeline, and then the end of the pipeline is connected and fixed to another pipe fitting or valve by means of adhesive or other methods.
- Integrated flange: The flange and pipe fittings (such as elbows, straight joints) are directly molded into one unit. This structure is more stable and has greater pressure resistance, but precise alignment during installation is required.
- Single-piece flange: This typically refers to a separate, unconnected short section flange. It is commonly used to connect the outlet of equipment (such as storage tanks, pumps), or to be adhesively connected to the pipeline on-site as needed.
Installation Instructions
- Adhesive connection: The vast majority of UPVC flanges are connected to the pipes using a specific adhesive. During installation, it is necessary to first clean the bonding surfaces of the pipe and the flange, then apply the adhesive evenly, quickly insert the pipe into the flange socket and rotate it by 1/4 turn, and hold it for 10-15 seconds to achieve initial fixation.
- Temperature and pressure limitations: The applicable temperature range for UPVC materials is typically between 0°C and 60°C. They cannot be used for transporting high-temperature media. The pressure rating usually ranges from PN6 to PN16 (i.e., 0.6 MPa to 1.6 MPa). When selecting the model, it is necessary to confirm the actual working pressure of the system.
- Use special gaskets: When installing two flanges for a sealing connection, it is necessary to use corrosion-resistant soft gaskets (such as rubber gaskets, EPDM gaskets, etc.), and metal gaskets must not be used. This is to ensure the sealing effect and protect the flange surfaces.
