
What is "biaxial orientation"?
This is the key to its performance leap. To put it simply, at a specific temperature, by applying axial and radial stretching, the PVC molecular chains are made to re-arrange in a regular manner.
Imagine this: The molecules of an ordinary PVC-U pipe are like a tangled mass of noodles; but after undergoing biaxial orientation, these "noodles" are stretched straight and neatly arranged along the circumference and length of the pipe.
Result: This orderly arrangement endows the material with extremely high strength, toughness and impact resistance.
PVC-O pipes also exhibit excellent impact resistance and flexibility, allowing them to perform reliably under variable ground conditions and temperature fluctuations. Their elastic behavior helps absorb external loads and pressure surges, reducing the risk of cracking or sudden failure.
Compared with ordinary PVC-U pipes, this type of pipe has extremely high strength and greater toughness. It can inhibit the expansion of cracks on its own. Under the same pressure level, it has a thinner wall thickness and a smoother inner surface, resulting in lower energy consumption during long-term operation.
Ordinary PVC-U pipes are like ordinary glass - they are strong but fragile and prone to sharp impacts; while PVC-O pipes are like tempered glass - they are not only strong but also have good toughness and are less likely to break.
