
Aluminum-plastic composite pipe
Its core structure: Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) - Aluminum (AL) - Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX). A complete PEX-AL-PEX pipe consists of five layers, from the inside out:
- Inner layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) - Contacts the transported liquid, resistant to corrosion and hygienic.
- Adhesive layer: Hot melt adhesive - This will firmly bond the inner plastic layer to the aluminum layer.
- Middle layer: Welded aluminum alloy - the "framework" of the pipe, providing strength and shape memory. The welding methods for aluminum strips mainly include butt welding and lap welding.
- Adhesive layer: Hot melt adhesive - This ensures a tight bond between the aluminum layer and the outer plastic layer.
- Outer layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) - Protects the inner aluminum layer and provides additional weather resistance.

Core advantage: What makes it so good?
The advantages of the aluminum-plastic composite pipe can be summarized as "combining rigidity and flexibility".
It is as corrosion-resistant, non-caking and hygienic as plastic pipes, while also having the certain rigidity of metal pipes. It can be bent and shaped, and will maintain its shape after being formed, unlike ordinary plastic pipes which tend to spring back easily.
The middle aluminum layer serves as an excellent oxygen barrier. This is crucial for a closed-loop heating system, as it prevents oxygen from seeping into the pipes, thereby avoiding oxidation and corrosion of metal components (such as boilers and radiators) in the system, and significantly extending the lifespan of the equipment.
Due to the presence of the aluminum layer, its thermal expansion and contraction is extremely low (the linear expansion coefficient is approximately 0.025 mm/m·K). This means that when transporting hot water, the pipeline is less likely to bend or deform due to thermal stress, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing appearance and greater safety when concealed.
The pipe material has certain flexibility and can be rolled for transportation. For small-diameter pipes, it can be easily cut using a pipe cutter and bent with manual or hydraulic tools, thereby reducing the number of joints. At the same time, it supports various connection methods such as ferrule, compression, and hot fusion, all of which can ensure the strength and sealing performance of the connection points.

- Building cold and hot water supply: The main and branch water supply pipelines used in residential and commercial buildings, ensuring good water quality and durability.
- Floor radiant heating: This is one of its most important applications. Its excellent resistance to temperature and pressure, oxygen-blocking property, and flexibility make it an ideal choice for floor heating pipes.
- Heating system connection: Connect the radiator or fan coil unit and other terminal equipment.
- Other fields: These include snow-melting systems for roofs, compressed air transportation, ground-source heat pump systems, and agricultural irrigation, etc.
